The fennec fox , also called fennec or desert fox, is native to the Sahara Desert, the Sinai Peninsula, Arava desert, and the Arabian desert. A fennec fox's typical den is dug in sand, either in open areas or places sheltered by plants. Its most distinctive feature is its unusually large ears, which also serve to dissipate heat.
