The 14th century castle featured in today's puzzle is located in the town of Missillac (in the French department of Loire-Atlantique ). The Bretesche castle was built in the 14th century and rebuilt in the 15th century. At the time, it was an outpost in the town of La Roche-Bernard in the Duchy of Brittany. Its name comes from the low Latin brittisca "[fortification] British".
